These are the spiral stairs that exit the Vatican Museum, which I think are pretty visually stunning.
So back to chronology. Next stop in Rome was Vatican City!

But I am semi-placated by this funny statue of tickling feet.
We also saw some very old friends.
This is a slightly less awesome (but not by much) angle of the same spiral staircase.
Before leaving Rome, we also decided to check out the Trevi in the daylight
Casually cruise by the Pantheon (no big deal)
And take a break by resting a while on the Spanish Steps.
